Creating Access
From Intentions to Actions
A two-hour, hands-on workshop that gets your team from "we really should do something about access" to actually doing it. A Disability Action Plan sounds like a big, official document you need a consultant and six months to produce. It isn't. You leave this workshop with the first version already drafted.
More than one in five Australians are Disabled. Getting access right is rarely about one big gesture. It's about a plan you can actually follow, and this workshop gets you started on yours.

All Dower Productions facilitators bring lived experience with disability alongside professional experience in the creative industries. Workshops are designed to feel authentic, practical, and grounded in real-world industry knowledge, not corporate compliance.
Workshops are developed by screen practitioner and disability advocate Stephanie Dower, and delivered by presenters with diverse lived experiences across the disability spectrum. Your facilitator is confirmed on booking.
Beyond her advocacy, Stephanie is a die-hard musicals fan, a proud aunty, and an avid traveller always plotting her next adventure.
Before you book
The questions we get asked most often.
How much do the workshops cost?
Workshop 1 (Understanding Access) is $1,500 + GST. Workshop 2 (Creating Access) is $2,500 + GST. Facilitator travel expenses for in-person sessions outside Brisbane are additional. Both can be delivered online at no additional travel cost.
Do we need to do Workshop 1 before Workshop 2?
It helps but it isn't required. Workshop 2 is designed for teams ready to move into action. If your team already has foundational disability awareness, you can jump straight to Creating Access. If you're starting from scratch, Understanding Access first will give your team the grounding to get more from Workshop 2.
Can you deliver to our whole organisation?
Yes. Both workshops are designed for teams and organisations, not just individuals. If you want to run a session for a larger group, or run both workshops back-to-back for a full learning day, get in touch and we'll work out the best approach for your team.
Where do the workshops take place?
All workshops can be delivered online or in person. For in-person sessions, it's the client's responsibility to arrange a suitable venue. We can help source one for an additional fee. The venue cost is separate from the workshop fee. Hybrid formats (some participants in-person, some online) are available, with the client managing the production setup.
What equipment do you need?
For online delivery, we arrange the Zoom setup for your participants. For in-person sessions, we need an appropriately sized venue and access to a screen to display workshop content. We'll confirm any facilitator-specific access requirements on booking.
What do participants need to bring?
Just themselves and an open mind. We recommend pen, paper, or a laptop for notes. We provide all worksheets and resources on the day.
Can workshops be customised for our industry or organisation?
We're open to this conversation. Both workshops are grounded in arts and screen industry context, but if your organisation has specific needs or sector requirements, reach out and we'll explore what's possible.
